The idea behind negative calorie foods is that it takes more calories to digest the foods then the calories that are actually in the food. The name, negative calorie foods, is not correct in the sense there is no such thing as foods with negative calories. The name came from the fact that you burn more calories to digest certain foods than are actually contained in the foods themselves.

To lose weight you got to burn more calories then you consume. This is the idea behind any weight loss diet. However, most diets leave us with hunger cravings because we are used to a certain feeling of fullness. This is when the negative calorie foods come in. You can eat as much as you want and still lose weight!
