Chapped lips
Chapped lips are a common cold-weather problem resulting in dry, red, peeling, and cracked lips that can become inflamed and tender. Some individuals have a genetic predisposition to dry skin, which worsens as they age. Dry air, resulting from winter’s low humidity and the use of indoor heat, can cause skin to dry out. Also, long, hot baths and showers can make skin dry, all causing chapped lips.
Chapped lips remedy #1
Before you go to bed at night rub some Mentholatum on your chapped lips. Use as much as you would if you were applying chap stick. When you wake up the dryness is gone. Works especially well with cracked chapped lips.
Chapped lips remedy #2
Apply petroleum jelly to your lips three to five times a day. The great part is that petroleum is clear and thin, so it looks great over your lipstick because it's shiny!
Chapped lips remedy #3
Put a little bit of olive oil on the tip of your finger and place it on your lips as you would chapstick. You will have imediate results. Just apply as needed.
Chapped lips remedy #4
Take a small amount of honey and rub into your lips with your finger (or just rub your lips together). The sugar crystals in the honey will exfoliate your lips. You can then either lick or wipe off the honey. Follow with your favorite lip moisturizer or chapstick.
Chapped lips remedy #5
Just put vaseline on your chapped lips before you go to bed. Keep it on all night. When you wake up the vaseline will have soaked into your chapped lips, leaving them soft and plump like all you girls want them. If you have cracked chapped lips try a facial or body scrub. Take a tiny amount and rub into your lips then rinse with cool water. Put vaseline on after (for overnight) and next morning you wake up and your lips will be healed!
